Sat, May 10, 2025, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Through hands-on experimentation, participants will learn about the endless possibilities and magic of creating color from plants and vegetable waste. Using locally foraged plants, such as loquat leaves and eucalyptus bark, in addition to easily found kitchen waste, like avocado pits and onion skins, participants will be introduced to the basics of creating natural dye for fibers.

In addition to learning the basic process of natural dye, each student will create a dyed cotton bandana, in addition to a rainbow of fabric samples.

Materials will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring any scraps of fibers, plant or animal based, such as fabric scraps or yarn, to play with!
