Improv for Introverts!

Have you heard a lot about how fun improv is and how much value it can add to your life and thought, too bad I can’t do that? This might be the introduction for you if you are intrigued by what you’ve heard but have been intimidated by any of the following:

  • I don’t like attention
  • I can’t compete with “funny”
  • I’m not fast/loud/clever
  • I don’t like groups

Now consider these benefits:

  • Lose self-consciousness
  • Trust yourself
  • Open to your unique creative flow
  • Connect with others
  • Laugh a lot

While the improv foundations remain the same (see Intro to Improv Goodness!) and our classes in general are meant to be a safe space for discovery, our approach will be tailored for those of us who need a little more time to get out of our shells.

The instructor, Laura Wachtel, is an introvert who learned over time through improv how to work with her own sensitivities and to gradually take more risks, and she considers improv a pivotal force in altering her perceptions of who she is and what she’s capable of.
