Everyone loves holiday cookies, but some traditional recipes include techniques that are intimidating even to experienced bakers. This class will prepare you to tackle your holiday baking to-do list with confidence. SHED’s communications manager Caroline Ferguson, a former professional baker and food educator, will walk us through foolproof tips and tricks for three favorite holiday treats. We’ll learn how to prepare, roll, and cut out delicate doughs as we make jam-filled linzer cookies, and use a cookie mold to create intricate German springerle. And no holiday cookie spread would be complete without chocolate—we’ll learn how to temper and make chocolate-coated pretzels decorated with toppings from SHED’s pantry.
